The theme for the Maynooth St Patrick's Day Parade 2023 is Celtic Mythology and we are delighted to announce Maynooth's GAA submission will be our “Warrior Walk - The March of the Crom Abú”.
The motto Crom Abú originated from the war cry of the Fitzgerald Family, and features on our club crest as a symbol of this ancient heritage.
Our juvenile club members are invited to get into the spirit of this year’s parade theme by joining us and unleashing their Celtic warrior spirit. Maynooth GAA club colours should be worn, but it would be great if children could also embrace the parade theme and help to add their own colour and spirit behind the battle cry of the “Crom Abú” for the day.
To prepare: The more creative the better… Hurls can become 'swords' by using tin foil…. Shields can be made and decorated in our club crest… Add some Black & White face paint to complete the warrior look…
On the day: Meet at Donovan’s at 10:30am on Friday morning, we will be at Assembly point No. 13.
After the parade: Come on up to the Clubhouse which will be open from 11:00 and serving our barfood menu from 14:00. All sporting events will be shown on our large screens and there will also be musical entertainment on the day.
Happy Saint Patrick’s Day to all our club members.
Crom Abú!!
